Taking care of the future

A pair of Sulawesi Crested Macaques taking care of their young baby and displaying a tender and caring side to their nature. It was a great privilege to witness and photograph this intimate family moment as the father reached around from behind the mother to gently make physical contact with their offspring, and to assist with the grooming of the baby.

The expressions on the faces of the parents displays a love and devotion to their child that indicates a lifetime bond between the three family members. Moments such as this truly demonstrate the link between humans and primates.
