Village in bloom

This old disused lamppost surrounded by a modern floral display in the middle of Polperro village was a very tricky scene to photograph due to the extreme tonal range between the highlights and shadows. The final result is an amalgamation of two separate exposures taken at different shutter speeds to capture the full tonal range adequately.

This was made much more difficult since both exposures were made handheld while I tried to balance on top of a narrow wall which surrounded the flower bed.
